Well, finals are over, classes are done, and tomorrow I am getting on a plane back to Colorado. It certainly has been an interesting few months – I’ve learned so much more than just music. I will try to finally get that series on classes wrapped up, perhaps on the plane ride tomorrow.

Well, the bags are packed and sitting by the door, all my other belongings are stored away in boxes, and I am, physically at least, ready to leave. I always sort of expected that I would be very excited and have no second thoughts about this day. But while I AM looking forward, there are suddenly new strings pulling me back. It will certainly be an interesting year.

I never got into the whole ‘blogging craze’. But I’ve been thinking lately about how I’m going to keep everyone back at home informed over the next few years, and it seems like a website will the most efficient way. That, and Nick said I should just get on with it and join the 21st century. I’m not sure I really have time for a blog, but what can I say?

Three and a half weeks seems alternately no time at all and eons to wait. I’ve only just begun to create a packing list - my preparation style for travel has always been to put everything in place the night before my departure, which probably isn’t exactly wise in this case - but I expect everything to come crashing together at the end of next week, after the concert. If nothing else that will be the point when I finally start thinking of NYC as imminent instead of something in the far, far future.
